How does a hand start?
The deck has 52 cards and two jokers. At a table of four, all cards are dealt, so each player gets 13 or 14. The player holding the 3â™ opens the first hand, and their first play must include that card.
The order, from lowest to highest, is: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A, 2, black joker, red joker.
What can you play?
- Single card, pair or three of a kind: pairs and triples must share the same value. To beat them, play the same kind of combination with a higher value.
- Straight: at least five cards in a row, for example 3–4–5–6–7. Jokers cannot be part of a straight. A and 2 can be low, as in A–2–3–4–5; J–Q–K–A–2 is not allowed. A straight must be beaten by one with the same number of cards and a higher value.
- Bomb: four cards of the same value beat any other combination. A bomb can only be beaten by a higher bomb.
You can pass when there is a play on the table. When all other active players pass, the player who made the last play leads again; if they have run out of cards, the turn goes to the next active player.
Points and playing in pairs
At a table of four, the first player to finish gets 3 points, the second 2, the third 1 and the last 0. The initial target is 21 points. If several players reach it at the same time, the target goes up by 10 and the game continues.
In 2v2 pairs, the partners sitting opposite each other add up their points; if both teams reach the target at the same time, it goes up. Between hands, follow the app's notices about the card exchange and who opens.
